Because of various problems with other Scottish power stations, Cockenzie power station in East Lothian and hydro power are keeping Scotland going just now!
Normally I would try and crop the power station out of shot, as it is not the most attractive structure - but under the circumstances, it didn't seem fair. With the sun behind it, it's dwarfed by the biggest power generator of the lot!

Studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, completing a four year degree course in Fine Art in the department of Drawing and Painting in 1986. During the foundation year at Art College I was introduced to 35mm film photography and given the opportunity to learn developing and printing techniques. I really enjoyed these classes and was lucky enough to be taught by Joseph McKenzie, regarded by many as the ‘Father of Modern Scottish Photography’. I have continued to be interested in photography ever since - and now enjoy exploring the creativity possible using digital techniques. Photography has renewed my wonder in the detail found in nature - it always challenges your preconceptions and constantly surprises you with its beauty.
